We write to provide comfort and strength in this dire moment in the history of the State of Israel and Am Yisrael.
American Friends of Neve Hanna stands with Israel and the IDF as they protect their citizens. We keep the children and staff of Neve Hanna Children’s Home and all of Israel in our hearts, thoughts and prayers.
We pray that we will be delivered from this time of war, and enter a time of peace.
We have been keeping in close contact with Neve Hanna and have updates we want to share with you.
Day 1: Our children are on holiday and were supposed to come back to Neve Hanna. The social workers keep in close contact with the children, where some are in the region of fighting and rockets, and some are not. So far, our team seems to be safe and okay. Volunteers from Germany are in a safe place.
We all keep the home front command instructions, but are shocked and extremely under stress. Nevertheless they are doing okay considering the circumstances.
Day 2: It was quiet at Neve Hanna. Tomorrow, there will be a decision regarding the return of children, most likely for which home is the least best solution.
Sadly, we regret to inform you that a beloved former child of Neve Hanna was murdered. The brother-in-law (a police officer) of Esther, a House Mother of the Path to Peace program at Neve Hanna was murdered too. May their memory be for a blessing.
On behalf of the children of Neve Hanna, thank you for your continued love and support and prayers. We will keep you informed as more news comes in.
We also hope that you will keep our 5 grandsons who serve in the IDF, 4 of whom got called back in to serve, in your hearts and prayers.
