Every year, The Covenant Foundation awards an organization doing incredible work within the field of Jewish education in Israel. Neve Hanna Children’s Home in Kiryat Gat, Israel, was this year’s grant award recipient.
“In recognition of all of you, outstanding Jewish educators and Jewish education champions who are here tonight with your friends and families, a donation is being made to: Neve Hanna Children’s Home.”

This is my Covenant with you…
the words which I have put into your mouth
shall not depart from you…
nor from your children,
nor from your children’s children
henceforth and forever.
Isaiah 59:21
Each year, The Covenant Foundation honors three exceptional Jewish educators with a prestigious Covenant Award. Congratulations to Rabbi Tamara R. Cohen, Chief Program Officer, Moving Traditions, Philadelphia, PA; Allison Cook, Founder and Co-Director, Pedagogy of Partnership, Powered by Hadar, Cambridge, MA; Nicole Nash, Head of School, Hannah Senesh Community Day School, Brooklyn, NY.
Over 450 people gathered together at Chelsea Piers in Manhattan to celebrate the three outstanding Jewish educators who received the 2023 Covenant Award: Rabbi Tamara R. Cohen, Allison Cook, and Nicole Nash. The evening was both poignant and joyful, filled with deep appreciation for these remarkable individuals, and touched with the ever-present reality of the violence and loss of life since October 7, which has left a mark on all of us.
The Covenant Foundation recognizes the diversity of strengths within the field of Jewish education in North America, across all denominations and settings.
By honoring outstanding Jewish educators and supporting creative approaches to programming, the Foundation works to strengthen educational endeavors that perpetuate the identity, continuity and heritage of the Jewish people.
The Foundation believes those with the creativity and passion to be catalysts for change and innovation in Jewish education are worthy of recognition and support.
