Shemini Atzeret Message

By Rabba Liron Levy

The High Holidays this year came with a heavy hurt feeling, coping with more and more missile attacks, the worry for so many soldiers fighting in the south and the north and the sadness for our kidnapped sisters and brothers kept in Gaza. It wasn’t festive, enjoyable or happy.

I believe that October 7th memories are still present in every thing that we do, it is sad to say but it is still part of the atmosphere that we live in.

For October 7th, each group created her own memorial corner in the houses, with a “talking wall” to write thoughts and feelings in this sad day. On October 8th our young volunteers (shinshinim – year of service) led the program “creating hope” – an active workshop for learning and creating their own hopes and dreams for the land of Israel. I believe that the combination of both activities created a meaningful experience for the children and staff.Ā

As for Simchat Torah, as the years before the children are with their families on vacation. I hope to celebrate the holiday in a small and modest gathering when we will come back to Neve Hanna.Ā

From our family to yours, I’m sending you a Chag Sameach blessing with congratulations for Shana Tova, good health and joy for you and your love ones!

Chag Sameach!
