NEWS FROM NEVE HANNA, 11/23/23

November 23, 2023.

Dear Friends of Neve Hanna,

One can never use the term “static” in connection with the children’s home, because there is always something going on, and yet: There have been no major changes in the last week, except that we are gradually finding our way back to our rhythm. This includes the fact that the Bedouin children from Rahat are now visiting the Daycare Center again, although the children from Ashkelon still do not get official permission to travel forth and back. In addition, the children in Kiryat Gat have regular school lessons again. That is a great relief for them because they find it extremely difficult to follow Zoom lessons.

Preparations for Chanukah have begun these days. Today is a special afternoon for the children as the gift options are presented. Each group has a fixed time at which they visit the exhibition. Each child then decides which three gifts are their personal favorites. As you know, we generally manage to fulfill the Wish Number 1. With this campaign, the anticipation increases!

A few short words about the Yeladudes Bakery. Sales suffered greatly from the situation. We work on order only and for a few sales stands in the center of the country. Not a great situation, but that is the harsh situation for many Israeli companies. Since our teenagers are still not allowed to work in the bakery – from there it is too far for a larger group to get to the shelter – the moderate order situation is, on the other hand, a blessing, because otherwise the work load could not be managed.

Sincerely for today,
Antje C. Naujoks, Public Relations and Resource Development
