International Literacy Day is celebrated worldwide each year on September 8, reminding us of the vital role literacy plays in creating opportunity, strengthening communities, and building brighter futures.
Yet around the world, millions of people still lack basic reading and writing skills.
At Neve Hanna Children’s Home, our Library is far more than a room filled with books. It is a place where curiosity is nurtured, confidence grows, and dreams begin.
Our Library Program fosters a lifelong love of reading, strengthens academic achievement, develops interpersonal skills, and inspires children to pursue higher education and meaningful careers.
It also provides teens with hands-on vocational learning. Guided by professional staff, they take on real-world library responsibilities while developing practical skills, confidence, and valuable experience that can open doors to future careers in Library Science and education.
